Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

its getting cold in tazzy and iota deville is bulking up for winter . . . she has lost her sleek athletic figure and become an orb! haha

im writing this is bed and she no longer sits on the bed with me, she lies IN the bed, burrowing deep down under the doona pressing right up against me for heat . . . despite the excessive weight gain shes still not insulated enough for the bitter tasmanian winter

iota usually only eats a few little nibbles sporadically during the day but lately she has been chowing down big time . . . this pleases my mother as she loves feeding people and takes great delight in filling up iotas food bowl with as assortment of wonderful treats . . . i see iota waddling down the hallway and i say to mum "can you please stop over-feeding chubby deville?"

i was watching tv in the lounge with my noisy parents when a massive crash erupts from the adjoining room and the chair at the computer table topples over with paperwork aflutter

iota "chubby" deville has decided to join in on the noise! haha

she nodded off on the three tray work file tower which is conveniently located between the radiant warmth of the wifi modem and the heater on the wall . . . i can only presume she rolled over in a deep slumber and toppled the whole assembly with her destroying everything on the way down

its the old humpty dumpty routine to liven up our evening!

Strange you compare him today to Humpty Dumpty - one of the Sunday papers over here reported on the international debate today of where Humpty Dumpty originated.
I just wish I had enough brain cells left to remember what they were saying but there are three points in history that could possibly be the origin of Humpty!
One debate is that it was a colloquial term used in 15th century England to describe someone who was fat or obese - giving rise to lots of theories pertaining to the identity of Humpty Dumpty. "However, in this case the question should be not Who was Humpty Dumpty but What was Humpty Dumpty? Humpty Dumpty was in fact an unusually large canon which was mounted on the protective wall of "St. Mary's Wall Church" in Colchester, England. It was intended to protect the Parliamentarian stronghold of Colchester which was in the temporarily in control of the Royalists during the period of English history, described as the English Civil War (1642 - 1649). A shot from a Parliamentary canon succeeded in damaging the wall underneath Humpty Dumpty causing the canon to fall to the ground. The Royalists 'all the King's men' attempted to raise Humpty Dumpty on to another part of the wall but even with the help of ' all the King's horses' failed in their task and Colchester fell to the Parliamentarians after a siege lasting eleven weeks."
I know this is off topic and Iota - YOU RULE - but the history of Humpty Dumpty was way interesting.

i love hearing origins of nursery rhymes . . . they usually relate to something historical that you thought was just a nonsense phrase . . . thanks for the info!

My mistake!!
I knew Iota was female but for some reason, hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm, I had male on my brain while typing. No offence Iota. You and Dark could have some wild times!
I know a certain feline that would join you Iota!! He's slightly gothic, appreciates multiple meals a day, is more vain than Jessica Simpson and has a really long tongue.
