Deep Pencil (not to be confused with Deep Throat) . . . my Musings master their own domain

Deep Pencil - the blog formerly known as Orble (Musings) by Morgan Bell.
If you think that was just an excuse to use my own name again you are absolutely right!
A month since i joined Orble my third blog now has its own domain name, thanks to the swift work of Charles and my ongoing obsession with the inactive blog list.
www.orble.com/inactive-blogs
Heres a quick history of my Orblings on our ONE MONTH anniversary together . . .
When i first joined up to Orble my theme for a blog was trivia about the arts (music, dance, theatre, film, painting, sculture, design, performance, exhibits, shows etc) i called it "Quirky Artist Facts" and within the first 3 or 4 posts Orble asked me if i would like my own domain . . . i scanned and scanned the inactive blog list for days but i couldnt find a title that represented the content of the blog . . . Orble kindly created a new domain for me and my first blog is now located at www.artistquirk.com (14 posts sinch 4 March 2007)

Being the little movie buff that i am i quickly established a film review blog and called it simply "The Film Review" . . . this time when searching the inactive blog list there were infinite possibilities, so many abandoned domains with the words movie/cinema/film in them . . . being the thorough little movie buff i clicked on each and every one of them . . . i was basically looking for a long abandoned domain so there wouldnt be any dramas if the original owner was just on holiday . . . if the owner doesnt post in 40 days it is classified as inactive but id prefer to give them 6 months just to be on the safe side . . . i was also looking for a domain with very few existing posts, i dont know why, its the territorial cave-woman in me . . . i settled on www.movietrain.net as it only had one post from August 2007 and it didnt seem outrageously different from my own style/content/opinions . . . i had created 25 posts since 7 March 2007

My "Musings" blog is my "self-indulgence" blog, it doesnt have a real theme other than things that take my fancy, it is the miscellaneous bargain bin of blogs which is often more creative writing than hard-hitting facts . . . browsing the inactive blog list a cool name catches my attention DEEP PENCIL . . . it sounds like a writers blog, or maybe a conspiracy blog, its sounds extremely exciting . . . there were four posts about music back in September/October 2006 . . . what rock bands have to do with deep pencils ill never know . . . luckily its about bands i approve of . . . sounds safe . . . i pop a quick email off to Charles and Deep Pencils your Orble . . . tweak the formatting and settings . . . its all done and done! i know am the proud owner of www.deeppencil.com (10 posts since 11 March 2008)

now the real question is did i provide all these statistics and blog history to encourage new Orblers to persevere with their blogging?
or is this yet another excercise in vanity from Morgan Bell?

i dont think theres any chance of me burning myself out!
its funny because i enjoy writing so much and its one of the few positive things i have to fix my mind on and organise my thoughts . . . orble is like rehabilitation therapy for me . . . imagine me as bed-ridden (im not physically completely bed-ridden but its how i feel alot of the time) and orble is my faux-job (unpaid of course), my networking with other writers, my reading of the news, and my intellectual socialising (oh how i wish we had cyber-martinis at this web cocktail party!) . . . i use orble to flex my writing muscle so i dont get intellectual atrophy lol

the inactive blog list is a bit like the RSPCA, you feel like youre picking up an unwanted blog and bringing it to a good home!
i took on a 4th blog recently and thats probably the maximum i could do . . . i think! lol
id like an enviro blog but i dont thing i would post to it regularly so ill just leave that in the back of my mind for the time being!
