Mardi Gras 2010 (photos)
March 7th 2010 14:56
Last weekend was Sydney's Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade along Oxford St and Flinders St in beautiful diverse Darlinghurst.
It was a warm day. I got ready with three dragqueens in Tempe and commuted by train in full costume from Sydenham Station to Central Station.
Here are some pictorial highlights. I was at The Taxi Club but many of my friends marched in the parade.

Saw some of these on your facebook page - what a hoot!
It seems the festival (not just the parade) doesn't quite get the coverage it deserves though - which is a great pity - as the diversity of films, books, fashions, plays and exhibits offers more than just the some of their parts.

the festival brings in an astounding amount of tourism revenue, i think it injected 30 million into NSW this year, so it attracts the treasure as well
hi MNG,
yeah absolutely, its a huge cultural event, id say Fair Day (the week before) is just as popular, and thats just like a big gay market with stalls and entertainment
its a wonderful time of the year!
