Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

Position Vacant: God

have you ever looked at a list of Greek & Roman Gods and marvelled at how specific their job descriptions were?

each God or Goddess in Greek & Roman Mythology is like a specialist who has been appointed director of their department . . . theres a few overlapping positions but basically you got to be in charge of an Element or a Season or one of the major components of human existance like Fertility, or Love, or Death, or Home, or Food . . . then theses just the random ones which occupy the minds of humans like Wine, or Jealousy or Vengence

imagine going to a job interview in the Jealousy department of a large corporation! haha
(i think we call that Marketing nowadays)

here is a list of a few of the most prominent and exciting Gods in the Greek & Roman culture, it is particularly fascinating if you have an interest in etymology, these immortal families make up the basis for much of the modern English language

It's like I keep saying, this hat is too tight. I mean, how many are also planets? And others are names for things that aren't even. Like fortune and fury? I'm just gassing.

hey keep on gassing luv, you can usually see things most people cant!
i particularly liked Hestia for a firey home goddess, when it is more commonly known as a range of ladies undergarments

oho! that's too funny. I think there's a panty-line there. I get to see the tripe I write before it goes to screenprint. Not many can say that, except my dad who writes all my snogs these days. There's a school of thought that the Egyptian god of regeneration and death, I forget his name but I call him the Sun, evolved into Dionysus, god of Wine into Bacchus and into Jesus, also god of death and regeneration and wine. I got kicked out for wagging. I said wagging.

I apologise if I, in any way, have offended tripe.

We should all apply to be the god of something, thereby making the notion of god (even more) meaningful and meaningless.

It might be fun to be on the God Allocation Committee!

lol you joke...but check out some info on the Indian Goddess - Kali-Ma the Mother of Life and Death. While not the Goddess of Marijuana she is strongly related to it, and it is used rather heavily in ceremonies worshiping her.

So, who wants to convert to Hinduism now?

I pray to the GOD of Weed, Known to all as WEEDICUS. He is the bringer of bud to all that want to see with thier third eye. There is a vision of smoke and rainbows that all who pray and redeive the body of WEEDICUS that will show the way to total enlightenment, and deliver them from tirany and evil.
