Morgan BellPrince William and his helicopter to appear on Dirty Sexy Money?

tonight i was teetering on the edge of a moral divide and it was all because of Prince William and his fabulous flying machine . . . so in the royal tradition of being a leader in the armed forces Prince William has followed in the footsteps of his father and taken up an occupation an an officer in the air force and become a pilot . . . the funny thing is hes using his army helicopter to visit his girlfriend and drop his brother off to a bucks night!
outrageous!
the air force pretty much tried to cover it all by saying hes training to use the battlefield helicopter and needs to practice landing in different conditions, so his girlfriends house was landing in a field, and the bucks night was flying over water . . . hmmmm but hes the prince and hes representing them so i cant really imagine them doing anything other than rationalising it . . . ive been flicking from news report to news report all night and getting really into the story, but only now have i sat down and tried to figure out exactly why its captured my unwavering attention when i care so little about the news in general?
i never really gave a toss about the royal family either way, but something about this little incident has gripped me and i dont know whether i love it or hate it . . . i think essentially i admire his sheer audacity . . . its got rock star quality!
its like hes shouting "ill do whatever i like, im the PRINCE! who the hell are you?" haha
its kind of cool right?
so while the sensible side of me thinks what an incredible waste of money and precious dwindling fuel supplies, and what an abuse of power, and how ridiculous to use work vehicles for personal use haha, i still smile and thing ahhhh cheeky!
initial reports made it sound like he was going to visit his girlfriend and took the helicopter because he couldnt be bothered with the traffic on the roads . . . but really he didnt even get out of the helicopter when he was there, he was just showing off and flexing his mighty muscle . . . ill be the king some day, ill fly where i like!
i wonder if hes going to keep doing it regularly, like an act of defiance?
he gives the sly little smile (looking eerily like his mother) and he knows hes gotten away with it on a technicality . . . it may not be as blatant as the cast of Dirty Sexy Money, but considering as the media scrutiny it was obviously going to attract it was certainly more daring!

its exactly like you said he HAS to train by flying somewhere but adding that personal errand element and showiness made it look like fun . . . and hes the prince so he has to be sensible and dull doesnt he?
i think he showed up the media and public expectation for him to actually be "boring" rather than merely "dutiful" which is all he is really obliged to be . . . but he did do it on purpose right?
look clearly this whole concept is blowing my mind . . .

My dad was a RAF pilot and they do 'exercise' all the time taking off, having a fly about, landing, for no other reason than to practice. All seems pretty expensive waste of fuel etc but they've got to practice. I'm not so sure of how the media came to the 'headline sexy' £30K pricetag though, I don't think the fuel tanks actually hold £30K of fuel.. just trying to sell more papers no-one wants to read I guess.
In a way Wills actually effectively saved us money as he doubled up his practice with a visit to his bird (saved on petrol/ bodyguards/ escorts etc didn't he?
I'll be amazed if he actually agrees to be King if the Press don't leave him be.

i think the way it was reported made it sound like he just took the helicopter out cos he was bored with the limousine lol
i didnt hear that price tag on the petrol, seems like the cost estimating person likes to blow things out of proportion!
