Small Announcement(s)
July 16th 2009 13:40
Hi guys,
I'm having a little technical error that Jon is looking into, where I can post blogs but I can't post comments. I only noticed it today but I don't know how long it will take to get resolved.
So I'm not ignoring anyone. I'm getting all of your comments and I intend to reply as soon as I can. I had more to say on Jeff's homosexuality post but I just can't get back there right now. Also all the people I'm subscribed to that I usually comment, I have seen your new posts, and have plenty of witty and charming things to say, I'm just locked out from contributing. I can't comment my own posts or anyone elses. Boo!
Maybe I hit my yearly comment limit? haha
Well I might as well give some random news now that I've got you all here. I won't be able to comment you back, so it will be a one-sided conversation. A statement. A press-release.
I went to the physio today. My back had improved somewhat since I got on the Valium, but was still pretty stiff and cramped. After 20 min of relatively light soft tissue massage I tried to get down off the therapy table and could not put my feet on the floor. Very ungracefully slid off the side to my knees, shooting pain, crumpled. I did the hunched shuffle towards a chair for support. Everyone assures me the pain will subside and its one of those things that will get worse before it gets better. However, I feel exactly the same as whenever I have got a piercing: "why did you just pay someone to hurt you like that?"
I got a referral to hydro-therapy at the local heated pool. Which also came with the dreaded task of swimwear shopping. Of course being the middle of winter it was even more difficult than usual. Very limited range. I hate trying on swimmers. I never swim. Im pale and soft, my breasts are too big, and my torso is too long. I do not belong in the water, and I do not belong in swimwear.
Do you say "swimmers" when you talk about swimwear? Or maybe bathers, togs, bathing suit, swim suit, bikini, speedo?
While I'm on my "health-kick" I am also looking into Tai Chi. I think all the Tai Chi instructors are stoners. I have rung four so far and not been able to speak to any of them. They don't seem concerned about losing business due to a lack of professionalism and they all seem to be operating out of home. I had a three-year-old answer the phone for one instructor, an elderly man with a stutter answer another, and a bizarre answering machine with no voice-recorded message, just a whole heaps of shuffling and clunking, then BEEP.
At the end of this month I am starting a course in Training and Assessing (Cert IV at TAFE), which should enable me to teach. I'm hoping my back will not impede my study.
In August I am going to Melbourne to watch the stage production of Chicago.
I'm very excited that the new season of Australian Project Runway is on Foxtel. I love that show.
I'm going to a Press Conference for a new film on Monday. Exciting!
I sent my friend who is in prison some Ruth Rendell and Dean Koontz novels. I thought Stephen King's The Green Mile or The Shawshank Redemption might be in bad taste.
I got my fringe trimmed for $7.
My cat smashed my bottle of Revlon Foundation. I have now switched to mineral makeup.
My parents have sold their house in Tasmania and are moving back to "the mainland". (yes they really call it that down there)
OK now I'm just taunting you with things you will want to ask follow-up questions about. Unfortunately I won't be able to answer you in comments, be I will enjoy reading your words.

Damn - I would have met you at the press conference but could not get out of work so am now not attending. Bummer - but it is for what looks like the most shit movie of the year. How many films have you heard the studio firing the director a few months prior to release??
There's a question for you - that one's on the house
And please throw something at Sienna for me.
You should look into a gentle pillates for your back and general health. I was told I could not ski again until I had a double knee reconstruction and pillates sorted that all out in one year. No ops and skiing like a demon again.

I say, "bathers". "Trunks" are for big trips.
That's the course I'm supposed to be looking into, but I've had procrastinating to do. If you can't do...anything...teach... something....
How long does that course go for, Mrs Crabapple?
