Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

The Uncooperative Model

What is it they always say, never work with kids or animals?

Have you ever tried to photograph your pet?

My cat, the stunning and beautiful iota deville, was being more difficult than Naomi Campbell on our backyard modelling shoot today . . . she kept trying to headbut the camera and would not sit still in any one pose, we had roley poleys, crazed expressions, chasing the camera cord and slicing my hand open with her claws (a playful gesture im assured!)

So without further ado here is "The Uncooperative Model":

hi alt_ed,
you should have seen how many times she knocked the camera out of my hand!
shes like a Russell Crowe type biffing the paparazzi!
i wonder if it would be any easier to photograph a doggy?

You can also make dog's bite your boyfriend when he's being a cunt!

hi alt-ed,
if only you could get them to put their own rug in the washing machine and throw milo under the lounge!

Oh she is too cute!

I just had the same problem trying to get a shot of a friend's cat to send to them as a "hello" while they're on tour (the friend not the cat). I took at least 20 before I could even get one or two decent shots. I feel your pain.

Well worth it though. Ms Iota Deville is supermodel material. I love number 10.

Here is one I managed to salvage that I took on my phone.

Damn your camera takes lovely sharp shots! Yay, I've been waiting for more of your photos.

Awww she looks so happy in grass... if only your folks had a giant ponytail plant she'd be in pussy heaven!

And my post spooked you? That first pic is as far as I got.

That belongs on Bryn's Horrorphile.

haha Morgan, are you trying to imply that Miriam ISN'T a dog? "if only you could get them to put their own rug in the washing machine and throw milo under the lounge!"

hi Cheryl,
yeah i took 3 times as many as i posted here!
she can move alot quicker than i can press the button on the camera!
im impressed with the clarity too - now that i have my 16GB super chip im taking them all on the largest setting!

hi Cheeky.
(is this Adam?)
maybe i should plant some ponytails for her to chew on so she can re-live the good old days!
she has a blast out in the yard, although frankly i think its way too big for such a small cat!

hi David,
haha you should try turning over in the middle of the night and seeing that face staring at you!
i quite enjoyed the bizarre coincidence of our tandem posting!

Beautious Deville!

I have lots of close up shots of horse eyes and nostrils, because they have to taste the camera....

hi Kleo,
ahhh a lady who knows the difficulty of photographing animals!
perhaps you could produce an avant garde photographic series entirely of horse nostrils?

Hehe, some of the nostril ones could be a distant shot of a dragons cave, if you didnt know different! A series of eyes would be good, they usually come out in interesting ways.
