Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

three more cents . . .

i just checked my adsense account and i only have three more cents to go until i hit my first ten dollars . . . woohoo!

i know this sounds like small fry but i think its exciting, proof that gradually people are reading more and more of what i write . . . its been nearly three months and im a pretty consistant blogger and if adsense is any indication of progress then i can conclude that the orble admin did not lie and readership really DOES go up exponentially over the life of the blog . . . even in the early stages

average earnings per day during the month of March = $0.02

average earnings per day during the month of April = $0.10

average earnings per day during the month of May = $0.25

ive been getting into the swing of things and building a rapport with other orblers, i have a few subscribers and i sometimes post links to my articles on myspace or facebook . . . i have four blogs now which are all on their own domains, and three of them were existing domains from the inactive blog list

im a nerd and i like my stats so im just gunna do a quick comparison (below) where i can see my volume of posting has slightly decreased but the hits are fairly steady or increasing . . . for me a huge part of the appeal of orble is that i get all these stats so i can monitor my progress

I can't even check my AdSense account. I've forgotten my account number and can't be bothered chasing it up.

I have no idea what I'm worth though I dare say it can't be much.

But 25cents a day Morgan? You'll be earning more than those kids in the Chinese sweatshops in no time.

for ages i was logging in and thinking it was $0.00 . . . it didnt worry me either way, i wasnt expecting much if anything at all . . . and then my friend pointed out i was viewing the daily tally and i needed to press the drop down menu to "all time"

if you go to the google homepage up in the top right corner theres an option to sign into your account and you use the gmail address you created with its password (if you can remember them)

isnt it cute how impressed i am with the itty bitty amount? haha

i like doing a progress report every once in awhile . . . new people sometimes contact me and ask me about stats and earnings and other nuts and bolts and bits and bobs so i thought it might give others an idea of what to expect in the first 3 months

I don't know about your cat, but I'd think arts would be pretty popular. But, writing what you love is a key to blogging and online articles because when you write what you love, the uniques shines through. Google and other search engines pick up unique and new. Keep up the good work.
