Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

Tweedledee & Tweedledum

November 20th 2008 14:50
Tweedledum: "I know what you're thinking about, but it isn't so, nohow."

Tweedledee: "Contrariwise, if it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic."

Through the Looking Glass
by Lewis Carroll
Chapter IV: Tweedledum & Tweedledee

Tweedledee & Tweedledum in the 1951 Disney animated classic

Tweedledee: "If you think we're wax-works, you ought to pay, you know!"

Tweedledum: "Contrariwise, if you think we're alive you ought to speak to us!"

Dee & Dum: "That's logic!"

Alice: "Well, it's been nice meeting you. Goodbye!"

Tweedledee: "You're beginning backwards!"

Tweedledum: "Aye, the first thing in a visit is to say: How do you do and shake hands, shake hands, shake hands. How do you do and shake hands and state your name and business."

Dee & Dum: "That's manners!"

Disney animated movie "Alice In Wonderland" (1951)

Matt Lucas

Little Britain actor Matt Lucas is playing both Tweedledee and Tweedledum in Tim Burton’s upcoming 3D adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

Johnny Depp will be the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway will be The White Queen, Alan Rickman will be The Caterpillar, and Crispin Glover will be The Knave of Hearts.

Helena Bonham Carter will be playing an amalgamation of two characters, The Red Queen and the Queen of Hearts.

If the question is, "do I like Hannah Montana?", the answer is "who's she?"
Logic is a Greek word which means only when it suits me.

Um... what an odd cast mix; if I didn't know better I'd swear you'd sent anthrax to the studio ordering them to assemble this particular line up- I don't know anyone else with Helena Bonham Carter hair that's fo-sure!

hi Norm,
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well theyd be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.

hi Jason,
a remake of The Wizard Of Oz would be so good!
i wonder who Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter would play in that one?

hi alt_ed,
Helena Bonham Carter is living the life i should have had! *shakes fist* damn her! haha

I can't wait for this movie, and I am loving the casting, Johnny and Helena in there is a given, and then Alan Rickman and Matt ... bring it on!

BTW, also like this Tim Burton does OZ idea.

hi Natalie,
yeah hes great with anything that has a real fantasy and dream (or nightmare) quality to it - he can make the most ghoulish creepy things seem beautiful - totally captivates the viewers imagination!
