Deep Pencil - the musings of Morgan Bell

If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it did it really make a sound? If i post a blog and nobody reads it was there really any point? You have entered the random thinking space of Morgan Bell . . . These are my musings . . . things about my life written off the top of my head . . . written in an informal disjointed style almost completely devoid of punctuation, this is where i flesh out writing ideas, discuss my life, and generally be self indulgent . . . it is also the bargain bin for articles which do not fit in with the film or arts themes of my other blogs . . . so have a wander around my mind, have a laugh, have a think, be nice, and humour me!

What kind of Animal Magnetism do you have?

October 4th 2008 16:09
I went to a Body Shop party recently . . . its one of those female social pyramid schemes like Nutrametics, Mary Kay, Avon, and various tupperware, lingerie, and adult toy parties that do the rounds . . . the host earns rewards by pressuring her guests into booking subsequent parties or buying absurdly overpriced goods that they dont need . . .

hey dont get me wrong, i love them, if im ever invited ill always go, and despite my feeble protests I WILL BUY SOMETHING!

anyway, this is all irrelevant, im just setting the scene

i want to tell you about an amusing Personality Trait game we played:

1) think of your THREE favourite animals

2) write them down in order with your most favourite first

3) for each animal write down TWO descriptive words that explain why the animal appeals to you or why you like them so much
ie: a hamster might be soft and cuddly, or a greyhound might be fast and strong

did you do it?

do it!

its a funny quiz!

ok scroll a bit and ill tell you what your answers to the test really mean . . .

Yay that!!!

1) Toucan - beautiful and colorful
2) Lynx - swift, sexy and best ears ever (lol)
3) Orca - strong, bold and very fast

Hehe - what a great personality test. People really think I am sexy, swift and have the best ears ever. Hahahahaha

hi Jason,
well ive always thought you had sexy ears! haha
i thought it was a fun little test, apparently it works on the principle of seeing things in others that you are yourself!
thanks for playing!

okay i kinda like the ansswers, not entirely convinced this is how others see me (or even how i think they see me).

1. rabbit- cute and cuddly (boring i know)

2. dolphin- smart and friendly

3. bird (non speciific) - free and independent.

like i said, 1 and 2 are a bit iffy but three is on the money.

hi Ruby,
well i think of you as smart and friendly . . . its probably hard to find an animal you describe as a bigotted abortionist! haha

at the party i chose
1. CAT - quiet & elegant
2. POSSUM - wild & cute
3. LIZARD - cool & calm

Well you are definitely cool and calm! one of the few people on orble who never loses it, which i greatly admire.

i like the wild and cute, not two descriptive words you usually put together. i would say you come across as more of a cat than a possum though...

i have heard that bears can induce their own abortions. maybe i should have put bears. and they bigoted against humans. that's why we shoot them right?

oh thanks about the smart and friendly thing. i can be very friendly, but i can also be a tad intimidating i'm told.

Horse: sturdy and majestic

Elephants: strong and protective

Cows: Solitary and soulful

I can't imagine thinking that anyone would think I'm majestic. OMG I'm really a cow ROFL

hi Johnny,
cows have a certain peacefulness and dignity to them, they are totally easy-going!
plus i dont think you are the animal as such, its more the characteristics that you see in the animal are the ones that you have yourself!
i find you to be strong in the comments you leave here on Orble!

hi Ruby,
thanks for the link to the weird rabbit site - you have a bizarre sense of humour my dear! haha
you exude friendliness and treat everyone equally!
i think i picked a possum because i have seen one the night before and i thought it was adorable - it was bold and timid all at the same time!

Ah well, when you get down to it, who can argue with thousands of years of natural selection? Ive got kitties on the brain right now....Seen my blog? We have 10 cats in the house for the third time! I warn you though, if you go over there, you will, as Lilla put it, 'melt all over the keyboard'!
